Join the DIY Filmmakers for a screening of responses to their latest film challenge, What’s In The Box?
The DIY Filmmakers is a Sheffield based film network connecting filmmakers at all levels with an aim to make films. The group provides opportunities for newcomers and industry professionals to build set experience, keep creatively active, experiment with new ideas and techniques and get projects off the ground.
The DIY Filmmakers meet regularly at Showroom Cinema, and hold challenges to create short films based on a prompt. In the past, prompts have included ‘No dialogue’, ‘90 second short’ and ‘Adaptation’. The prompt for their latest challenge is ‘What’s in the box?’, in which they were asked to create a short film featuring an unopened box. The prompt is based on classic film language theories about suspense and using the audience’s imaginations to create some tantalizing cinema. Join them in Studio I for a screening event of responses to this challenge.
Please arrive at 7pm for the start of the event, there is no need to book in advance.
