Join us in the main gallery for a special performance of Mercedes Azpilicueta’s work Molecular Love: Act 4. The performance is around 30 minutes, and will begin at 6.30pm. The gallery will then remain open until 7.30pm so that you can experience the exhibition.
Molecular Love is a long-term project by Argentinian artist Mercedes Azpilicueta which began in 2016 at the Rijksakademie van Beelden Kunsten in Amsterdam. It traces an evolving score written by the artist and materialised into a performative installation. Since the beginning (Act 1), the score has been fed and expanded by several shifting
collaborations with choreographers, performers and singers.
The second act evolved as a textile and performative installation at Lundskonstahall in June 2020. The third act of Molecular Love (a Mestizo act) continued by defining and shaping its multiple bodies fed by migrating organic matter. In the fourth act, Molecular Love keeps evolving and disseminating into new body-territories.
The gallery will be inhabited by a group of dancers in constant interaction with moving costumes, décors, sounds and wall texts. These fleeing bodies shape reciprocal and affective relationships, yolking and conjugating together across scale, speed and synchronicities.
Featuring performers Inari Hulkkonen and Tora Hed.
