Have you ever wanted to work with technology but didn’t know where to start? Our series of New Tricks workshops aims to demystify the technology employed by artists and give participants the skills they need to set them on a path of creative exploration.

Learn how to use the Game Boy Camera, take your own images and make your own prints as part of our Cyber Cafe exhibition.

Originally released in 1998, the Game Boy Camera captures grayscale images that are 128×112 pixels wide. This lack of detail was popular with Site Gallery’s youth group The Society of Explorers as it enabled them to feel less precious about the images they captured and less self-conscious in the images they appeared in.

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to capture the city through the creative restrictions imposed by the camera, and be led through prompts and activities developed by the group.

This event is now sold out – we are running another Game Boy Camera workshop on 31 August. Book here.

Accessibility

This event will take place on the ground floor of our building and is wheelchair accessible. There are accessible toilets on the same floor. If you have any questions or if there is anything we can do to improve your visit please email peter.martin@sitegallery.org.
