Learn how to use analogue film cameras and develop your own film with artist Rhea Storr.
In these workshops, you will learn to photograph and develop black and white 35mm stills film. Inspired by our current exhibition Subjects of State, Labours of Love, participants will discuss approaches to portraiture and from other experimental filmmakers working on analogue film.
Participants will shoot one roll of film collectively, working in small groups, focusing on the theme of portraiture and approaches to engaging with another person, community or place. They will narrate their images to tell a story. We’ll develop the film collectively using caffenol, an eco-friendly black and white developer. After the workshop the images will be digitised, assembled and sent out to the group.
All materials are provided and no experience is necessary. Suitable for ages 15+.
