In tandem with the visual works, a sequence of free contemporary music events will take place in the gallery in a commissioned programme, curated by renowned experimental pianist Philip Thomas. Featuring both all-day and evening performances, the musical programme will reflect some of the aesthetic and technical concerns of Sol LeWitt.
Saturday 8 May, 11am – 5.30pm
Zurich-based composer Manfred Werder will perform his own music with the edges ensemble, who will also perform their own compositions.
Friday 14 May, starts 8pm
Gerhard Staebler, Kunsu Shim, Anton Lukoszevieze, Philip Thomas and John Lely will perform their own compositions and music by Alvin Lucier and Tim Parkinson.
Saturday 15 May, 11am – 5.30pm
Gerhard Staebler, Kunsu Shim, Anton Lukoszevieze, Philip Thomas and John Lely will be joined by members of the edges ensemble.
Saturday 22 May, 11am – 5.30pm
Edges ensemble, John Lely and Philip Thomas will perform music by John Lely, Tom Johnson, Michael Pisaro and others.
