Family Friendly Workshop: Experimental Photography with Martha Cattell

Join artist Martha Cattell to learn about different types of seaweed and make your own sustainable photographs via cyanotypes and lumen prints.
Seaweed comes in many different shapes, forms and textures. It is a magical substance, and is now being used for things such as food and clothes. In this workshop you will get to see how it has been and continues to be used in photography.
Come and be transported to the sea, play with the amazing material of seaweed and see images grow before your eyes!
Drop in anytime between 11-1pm and stay for as long as you feel.
This workshop is suitable for audiences aged 6+. Intergenerational collaboration is encouraged.
Accessibility

Curator, artist, researcher. Martha’s work explores tensions between nature/culture, through memory and material, especially via socially engaged methods.
Their work typically revolves around film and photography and is interested in finding more sustainable ways of image making and is currently making films using seaweed, after a residency with the sustainable darkroom.
