Site Gallery has a selection of limited edition artworks for sale, which we have commissioned from artists exhibiting at the gallery. The editions offer an opportunity to purchase a valuable high quality artwork at an affordable price.
What is a limited edition?
A limited edition is an affordable way to own a piece of artwork produced by leading contemporary artists. It is often in the form of a print or an object that is replicated in a specific limited run. All of our limited edition artworks have been created exclusively for Site Gallery.
Each limited edition is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. The number on the artwork represents how many prints or objects there are in the run, and the number of the edition that you own. For example, an artwork marked ‘1/10’ means that you own the first of 10 copies. No further reproductions can be made of the work.
The prices vary according to the market rates for that particular artist, the scale of the edition and the processes involved in creating the artwork.
Why buy a limited edition?
Buying a limited edition is a great way to own an exclusive rare piece of artwork by a reputable artist. Limited editions are made to an extremely high quality as they have not been mass-produced. Whilst they are likely to increase in value over time you should buy one because you love the work and want to support the artist and gallery.
Proceeds from purchasing a limited edition supports the charitable work of Site Gallery which includes investing in artists’ professional development and our educational programme.
